Leland R. Holle, 75, of Bremen, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 31, at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Bremen. The Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Kathy Pralle played the organ while the church choir sang “What A Friend We Have In Jesus”. The congregation sang “Joy to the World”, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “Jesus Savior Pilot Me”. The pallbearers were Colin Laws, Doug Drey, Alex Holle, Terry Holle, Travis Holle and Garrett Holle. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery. Leland was born on December 3, 1935 at Bremen, son of Richard F. and Anne (Meyer) Holle. He was confirmed on April 10, 1949 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Leland attended the Immanuel Lutheran School. He was involved in organic farming, worked at the Bremen CO-OP and ran the township maintainer. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Church Choir, Lutheran Layman League, National Farmers Organization and Kansas Organic Production. He was also the Co-President of Low German Heritage and member of the Kansas National Guard. On October 11, 1959, Leland was united in marriage to Marcile Kuhlman at Linn, Kansas. She survives. He is also survived by sons, Rick Holle (Sharon), Coon Rapids, Minn., Dennis Holle (Dana), Chandler, Ari.; daughters, Glenda Brown (Mike), Houston, Tex., Janece Garcia (Ivan), Houston, Tex.; brothers, Verlin Holle (Pat), Hallam, Neb., Lennis Holle (Janice), Marysville, Oren Holle (Margie), Bremen; sister, Nila Koeneke (Delmer), Lincoln, Neb.; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
