William F. Farrant, age 84, of rural Frankfort, Kansas, died Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his home. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Cigna Center in Frankfort. William was born on November 5, 1926 at Frankfort, the son of Melvin and Lillian Reust Farrant. He graduated from Frankfort High School. William was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer, raised mules, enjoyed going on his yearly Elk hunting trip from 1979 until 2010, and attending the Sidney, Iowa Rodeo. He was a member of the Saddle Club and the American Legion. Survivors include his three sons, Willie Farrant of Frankfort, Scott Farrant of Blue Rapids, and Kirk Farrant of Frankfort, grandchildren, Dakota and Casey, two sisters, Katherine Sudduth of Sonora, California and Margaret Biedron of North Chicago, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Frank Farrant. Padden Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
