Doris M. Roever, 89, of Marysville, Kansas, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln, Nebraska. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 11 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover, Kansas. The Rev. Jill Menard officiated. Mae Nieman played the organ while David Heuer sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "In the Garden". The congregation sang "Amazing Grace". The pallbearers were Warren Miller, Chris Piper, Greg Meier, Theresa Barr, Diane Miller and Tracey Angermayer. Burial was in the Hanover City Cemetery. Doris was born July 17, 1921 near Hanover, Kansas, the daughter of Fred and Elmira (Oswald) Loges. On May 4, 1941 she married Arnold W. Roever. Doris was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover and member of the Union Pacific Employee Club #28. She enjoyed quilting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and reading. She loved watching the Kansas Jayhawks play basketball while listening to them on the radio. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold, on May 10, 1984; son, Larry Roever; brother, Frederick Loges; and two sisters, Velma Stultz and Loretta Roever. Survivors include three daughters, Barb Roever, Bonnie Stephenson, both of Lawrence, Kan., and Susan Meier (Joe), Hanover, Kan.; son, Robert Roever, Hanover; six grandchildren, Warren Miller (Noelle), Chandler, Ariz., Chris Piper (Kristin), Lawrence, Greg Meier (Jackie), York, Neb., Theresa Barr (Dan), Olsburg, Kan., Diane Miller, Lawrence, and Tracey Angermayer (Robbie), Hillsdale, Kan.; and eight great-grandchildren.
