Douglas D. Peters, 54, of Columbus, Neb., and formerly of Marysville, Kan., died Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Hospital in Omaha, Neb. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 15 at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. The Rev. Judy Scott officiated. Tam Gordon played the organ while Pat Breeding sang “In the Garden” and “Amazing Grace”. The pallbearers were Richard Fiegenschuh, David Dwerlkotte, Rob Dummermuth, Steve Davied, Terry Brockhaus and Rick Koch. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Connie, Columbus, Neb.; mother, Leona Peters, Marysville; two brothers, Alan Peters, McPherson, Kan., Ron Peters, Lenexa, Kan.; and one sister, Pam Smith, Marysville. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
