Lewis E. Darrow, 46, of Blue Rapids, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 near Blue Rapids. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 24, at the United Methodist Church. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Pallbearers were Jim Beck, Zach Stade, Matthew Musil, David Allen, Justin Hug and Jason Ground. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery south of Blue Rapids. Lewis was born on May 14, 1964 at Topeka, Kansas, the son of Edgar Lewis and Rachel Evelyn (Lay) (Darrow) Holliday. He attended Valley Heights schools. He married Jeannette Stade on May 13, 2000 in Marysville, they later divorced. Lewis worked at the Georgia-Pacific Corporation in Blue Rapids. Survivors include his son, Cory Darrow of Topeka, Kan.; two daughters, Nicole Allen (David) of Horton, Kan., Nena Hug (Justin) of Topeka; step-children, Joshua Gillespie (Tina) of Prentice, Wisc., Daniel Gillespie of Lino Lake, Minn., Gabriel Gillespie (Dawn) of Phoenix, Ari., Zachary Stade and Katie Oehm of Marysville; sister, Peggy Holliday of Topeka; two brothers, Larry Darrow (Pat) of Buffalo, Minn., and Timmy Holliday of Blue Rapids; three step-grandchildren, Trigten Gillespie, Ryan Stade and Summer Gillespie. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials will be designated later and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
