Mary C. Kenworthy, 67, of Waterville, formerly of Frankfort, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 18 at Padden Funeral Chapel. Gary Phillips officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Wayne Kruse sang "On Eagles Wings" and "Here I Am Lord". Other music included "I'll See You On The Other Side". The pallbearers were John Heath, Mike Jensen, Aron DeWalt, Steve Kenworthy, Micah Kenworthy and Sheldon Kenworthy. The honorary pallbearer was Joshua Kenworthy. Burial was in the Frankfort City Cemetery. Mary was born on February 8, 1944, at Frankfort, Kan., daughter of John and Maude (Gardner) Leupold. In 1962 she graduated from Frankfort High School. She was a homemaker and also worked various jobs. On September 15, 1962, she married Howard Kenworthy. They later divorced. She enjoyed attending sporting events to watch her children and grandchildren. Mary was also an avid KU fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Shirley Heath. Survivors include her children, Doug (Dianne) Kenworthy, Waterville, Bob Kenworthy, Lyons, Kan., Brian (Lisa) Kenworthy, Blue Rapids, Penny Wymore, Silver Lake, Kan., and Chad (LeaAnn) Kenworthy, Mitchell, Neb.; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the Marian Clinic, 1001 SW Garfield, Topeka, KS 66604, which provides health care, hope and healing to uninsured, low-income individuals and families of all faiths. Contributions may also be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
