Edward Joe Stilwell, 74, of Seneca, Kansas, formerly of Marysville, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Seneca. Visitation will be Thursday, May 26, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 27, at the Marysville City Cemetery. Rev. Rick Glowacki of the Marysville Christian Fellowship Assembly of God Church will officiate. Joe was born October 2, 1936 to Percy and Beatrice (Donaldson) Stilwell at Eureka, Kansas. He graduated from Eureka High School. He served in the U.S. Army for 4 years stationed in Germany. Joe worked for petroleum companies in Kansas City, Beatrice and Eureka. He retired after working for Frank Gaines Oil Fields and then moved to Marysville to be near family in 2003. He was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Percy Gene Stilwell; sister, Betty Edwards; and grandson; Anthony Wells on January 31, 2009. Survivors include his sons, Mike (Cindy) Stilwell, Mt. Home, Idaho, and Mark (Kris) Stilwell, Canyon City, Colorado; daughter, Kelli (Chuck) Wells, Marysville; sister, Twila (Joe) Parr, Macksville, Kansas; three grandchildren, Josh Stilwell, Damien Darling and Alex Wells, great-grandson, Korrigan Darling, and a nephew Gary Edwards, Eureka, Kansas. Memorials will be designated later and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.
