Ellen G. Harrington, 92 of Frankfort, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, Kansas. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m at the Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The Rosary will then be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday at the Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Frankfort. Ellen was born March 7, 1919 on a farm near Lillis to Frank and Nell McCoy. She graduated from Lillis High School in 1936. On December 3, 1936, she married John P. Harrington in Lillis. Ellen was the librarian at the Frankfort City Library for 17 years, an avid reader, a prolific quilter and embroiderer and a fan of the Johnny Carson Show. She was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Tuesday Club. Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; her sister, Mary Frances Caron; her brother, Frank McCoy Jr; a granddaughter, Tami Borck; and a son-in-law, John Colglazier. Survivors include her sons, Harold (Julia) Harrington of Kansas City, Phil (Wilma) Harrington, Charlie Harrington all of Frankfort, David (Debby) Harrington of Overland Park, Dennis (Kathie) Harrington of Cambridge, England; daughters, Kathleen Borck (Lee) of Manhattan, Peggy Harrington of Topeka, Susan Colglazier of Larned, Rita Harrington of Seattle; and sixteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church or to the Frankfort City Library and can be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.
