Neal Henry Schreiber, 87 of Home, Kansas died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, Kansas. Visitation was Thursday, June 9 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 10 at Kinsley Mortuary. Rev. Marilyn Sweet officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Pat Breeding sang "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", and "Grandpa (Tell Me About The Good Old Days)". The honorary pallbearers were Larry Boltz, Ronnie Boltz, Mary Ann Lehman, Jim Breeding, Jim Schramm and Kurt Obermeyer. The pallbearers were Glen Behrens, Richard Claeys, Lynn Hermesch, Bill Montanio, Hugh Nemechek and Robert Wolfgang. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Neal was born May 28, 1924 at Home, Kansas, the son of Henry J. and Ella J. (Coulter) Schreiber. On January 14, 1945 he married Laura "Pat" Hawkins at Home, Kansas. Neal was a farmer in the Home City area for most all of life and he also ran a bulldozer, worked construction and drove a transport. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Marysville. Neal enjoyed caring for his family and hunting. Survivors include his two sons, Mark (Linda) Schreiber, Home, Kan., and Alan Schreiber of Maryville, Tenn.; four grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Laura "Pat", on May 18, 1985; and infant daughter, Linda Joyce Schreiber. Memorial contributions will be designated later and may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
