Uwe Grund

Uwe Grund, 63, of Marysville, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, Nebraska. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, at Kinsley Mortuary. Rev. Jerry Zanker officiated. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Uwe was born on December 3, 1947 in Konigstutter, Germany, the son of Ernest and Paula (Rose) Grund. He married Frankie Grund in 1970 and they divorced in 1983. Uwe then married Linda Kraemer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Uwe worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and became disabled and retired in 1980. Uwe's hobbies were woodworking, fishing, and listening to the oldies music and collecting records. Survivors include his wife, Linda (Kraemer) Grund, Marysville; four children, Eric Grund of Des Moines, Iowa, Erin Grund of Marysville, Erika Pfeifer of Gothenberg Nebraska, and Elana Mohr of Marysville; brother, Reinhard Grund and his wife Carla Cole of Marysville; and nine grandchildren.
