Pearl I. Roesch, 91, of Beattie, Kansas, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 28, at the Beattie United Methodist Church. Burial in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Pearl was born May 2, 1920, near Beattie, Kansas, the daughter of Louis and Ada Christine (Ekstrum) Haley. She attended Snipe Creek School south of Beattie, Red Top near Oketo and Barklow School north of Beattie, started high school at Oketo and graduated at Beattie in 1940. During World War II she worked at different family homes and cared for ill patients. In 1946 she married Ernie Roesch. She was a housewife and raised her three children, Sandra, Larry and David. She was a member of the Beattie United Methodist Church since the 40's, United Methodist Women Society and American Legion Auxiliary for several years. Pearl enjoyed gardening, flowers, quilting and needle work. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernie Roesch on December 13, 1998; granddaughter, Shelly Gibson in 1987; and three sisters, Grace Davis, Margaret Ward and Ella Mae Schneider. Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Gibson, Oketo, Kan.; two sons, Larry and David Roesch, both of Beattie; one brother, Robert Haley, Topeka, Kan.; three sisters, Larrene Deihl, Arvada, Col.; Lillian Roberts, Amery, Wisc., and Joyce Holenbeck, Frankfort, Kan.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
