William O."Bill" Linkugel, 95, of Marysville, Kansas, died Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. Visitation will be Sunday, August 21, from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 22, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, north of Bremen. William was born on December 1, 1915, in rural Bremen, Kansas, the son of William F. and Rebecca Meyn Linkugel Sr. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran Grade School. Bill married Arlene Ottersberg on February 14, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Barneston, Nebraska. She died on February 5, 1999. Bill spent his life farming, just west of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was active in the church, serving on the cemetery board, the school board and as an elder. He is survived by two sons, Dale Linkugel, Marysville, Gary Linkugel, Deer Park, Texas; daughter, Linda Linkugel, Edwardsville, Kansas; sisters-in-law, Minnie Linkugel, Marysville, Mary Linkugel, Jackson, Alabama, Iola Ottersberg, Wymore, Nebraska; brother-in-law, LeeRoy Ottersberg, Beatrice, Nebraska; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arlene; son, Keith Linkugel in 2005; three sisters, Louise, Martha, and Marie; and two brothers, Walt and George. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary
