Minnie Linkugel

Minnie M. Linkugel, 98, of Marysville, Kansas, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, September 26 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Marysville. The Rev. Donnie Hofman officiated. Carol Wright played the organ while the congregation sang “Just As I Am”, “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” and “My Hope Is Built On Nothing Less.” The pallbearers were Chris Stiner, Brian Kolle, Doug Linkugel, Mike Bussart, Dennis Duensing, Daryl Linkugel, Mark Aeschliman and David Matthews. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Minnie was born November 11, 1912 near Marysville, Kansas, daughter of Herman and Anna (Rippe) Holle. She attended Immanuel (Hermansberg) Parochial School. She was baptized, confirmed, and on February 16, 1936, married George Linkugel at Immanuel (Hermansberg) Lutheran Church. Minnie and George lived and farmed near Marysville and Oketo their entire lives until retiring and moving into Marysville. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and was a wonderful cook. Minnie was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and later Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George, on September 10, 1992; two brothers, Herman and Norman Holle; one sister, Alma Lohse; great-grandson, Cody Duensing; and two sons-in-law, Melvern Meyer and Eugene Duensing. Survivors include one son, Devern (Joyce) Linkugel; two daughters, Lenor Duensing and Elaine Meyer, all of Marysville; sister-in-law, Mary Grabel, Alabama; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and three step great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
