Theresa A. Spellmeier

Theresa A. Spellmeier, 74, of Axtell, KS, died Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Good Samaritan Society in Mountain Home, Arkansas. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011 at the Axtell United Methodist Church. The Rev. Susan Montgomery officiated. Lila Alfers played the organ while Loretta Winchell led the congregation in singing “Amazing Grace” and “In the Garden.” The pallbearers were Robert Spellmeier, Jr., Brian Spellmeier, Jason Armontrout, Keith A. Spellmeier, Maurice Hart and Dan Farwell. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Theresa was born January 26, 1937 at Marysville, Kansas, daughter of Leo and Agnes (Savejo) Schramm. On September 14, 1953 she married Robert Spellmeier. She was a homemaker and worked in home health care. Theresa and Robert were caretakers for 18 years at a ranch in Oklahoma. Theresa enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening and caring for animals. She loved being a "Mom" and "Grandmother" most. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. Spellmeier; son, Keith Spellmeier; and brother, Don Schramm. Survivors include two daughters, Victoria Armontrout, Mountain Home, AR, and Roxanne Spellmeier, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; two sons, Robert (Cheryl) Spellmeier, Jr., Stephenville, TX, and Brian Spellmeier, Mountain Home, AR; two brothers, Jim Schramm, Marysville, KS, and Bill Schramm, Mustang, OK; and two sisters, Mary Ann Slama, Tulsa, OK, and Sharlyn Leach, Marysville; six grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
