K. Isalena Allgeier

K. Isalena Allgeier, 96, formerly of Beattie, died November 8, 2011 at the Rossville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Rossville, Kansas. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 12 at the Beattie United Methodist Church. The Rev. Norma Jeane Miller officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ and sang “In the Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” The pallbearers were Tim Rumpel, Elton Taylor, David Austin, Michael Austin, Charles Williams and Eric Montgomery. Burial was in the Beattie Union Cemetery. Isalena was born April 13, 1915 in Missouri and lived in Frankfort, Kansas, with her parents, General Bradley and Wilhelmina (Ford) Braden. On December 3, 1942, she married Charles L. Allgeier of Home, Kansas, at Frankfort. They lived on a farm west of Summerfield until retiring and moving to Beattie. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles, on July 23, 1995; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include four daughters, Joyce (Ken) Sorensen, Raleigh, NC, Karla (Lee) Austin, Denison, KS, Karen (Richard) Taylor, Burlingame, KS, Sharon (Dwight) Rumpel, Topeka, KS; son, Charles B. Allgeier, Freeport, TX; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the church. Contributions may be sent on care of Kinsley Mortuary.
