Eileen Ruth Linkugel

Eileen Ruth Linkugel, 77, of Bremen, Kansas, died Monday, December 26, 2011 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church near Bremen. The Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Pauline Lindhorst played the organ while the congregation sang “I Know that My Redeemer Lives”, “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “My Course is Run. Praise God, My Course is Run." The pallbearers were Larry Luedders, Daryl Fink, Jared Luedders, Wyatt Holle, Wayne Luedders and Marvin Pralle. Eileen was born June 23, 1934 at Brighton, CO, the daughter of Fred and Irma (Stunkel) Duensing. When she was 12 years old her family moved to Marshall County. She graduated from Mt. Calvary Lutheran School and Marysville High School in 1952. On September 15, 1957 she married Harold Linkugel at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bremen. Before she was married she worked as a bookkeeper for the Herkimer CO-OP. Eileen was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Lutheran Braille Workers, Dorcas Society and served as a 4-H Community Leader. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, quilting, gardening and cross-stitching. She and Harold spent 17 winters in Harlingen, TX. Her parents preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Harold; one son, Rev. David (Diane) Linkugel, Elkhorn, NE; two daughters, Carolyn (Phillip) Fishburn, Haven, KS, and Nancy (Rev. Randy) Jeppesen, Medford, WI; sister, Bernice Luedders, Herkimer, KS; two brothers, Eldor (Velma) Duensing, and Leroy Duensing, all of Bremen, KS; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial fund has been established to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Bremen, or Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Marysville. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
