Robert "Bob" D. Stohs

October 24, 1951 — January 24, 2012

Robert "Bob" D. Stohs, 60, of Bremen, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 28, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Anna Reb sang “Daddy’s Hands” and “One More Day.” The congregation sang “Here I Am Lord.” The pallbearers were Jeff Bartels, Bob Holle, Matt Bergmann, Dean Thomas, Shawn McGrath and Brad Armstrong. The honorary pallbearers were Rich Pacha, Larry Stohs, John Webb, Louis Holle, Arlan Holle, Ralph Plegge, Thomas G. Scheetz and Dennis Gallagher. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Bob was born on October 24, 1951 in Marysville, to Normond G. and Loeda M. (Spreer) Stohs. On November 18, 1951, he was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church, Waterville. In 1969, he graduated from Valley Heights High School. On June 5, 1982, he married Lori J. Giebler at Marysville. They have lived in Bremen since 1997. He worked at Always Freightline, owned Stohs Liquor for 14 years, worked at the Herkimer Coop, was a Maintainer Operator for Oketo and Marysville Townships, a trustee for Logan Township, and enjoyed going on harvest with area friends and farmers. For the last 20 years, Bob worked for the Marshall County Public Works and later became Supervisor. Bob enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, spoiling the grandkids, following his daughters to all of their sporting events, country cruising, and hunting. He enjoyed the outdoors and was always working on his farmers tan. Lori and the girls would like Bob to be remembered as the fun and stubborn "Super Bob" with a cheesy grin, a toothpick in his pocket, serious face and the big ol'teddy bear that he was. Survivors include his wife, Lori; four daughters, Tish L. Outhet, Oketo, Ashley M. (Daniel) Holle, Hanover, Jenna R. (Tom) Scheetz, Hanover, and Haley R. (Tyler) Finley, Fort Campbell, KY; brother, Donald (Betty) Stohs, Waterville; two sisters, Judy Myers and Alice Stratton, both of Baldwin City, KS; and four grandchildren, Shaelyn, Carson, Dillon, Brianna; and baby Finley, due in July. A memorial fund has been established and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. To order memorial trees or send flowers to the family in memory of Robert "Bob" D.
