William H. "Bill" Shubkagel, 90, of Frankfort, KS, died Monday, January 30, 2012 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 7 at Padden Funeral Chapel. Private burial was at a later date in Antioch Cemetery. Bill was born on May 2, 1921 at Bigelow, KS, the son of William and Elsie (Rhodes) Shubkagel. After his area schooling Bill joined the Army Air Corp. He was a A20 fighter plane gunner in New Guinea. With the help of the GI bill he was able to graduate from electrical motor school in Denver, CO. He had a electrical motor and air conditioning repair shop in Frankfort for over 50 years. Bill was a member of Masons, VFW, and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar and wood carving. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Saville, Blanche Burton and Jessie Francisco; and brothers, Charlie and George Shubkagel. Survivors include nieces, Ruth Ann Vopata, Frankfort, Diana Braunschweig, Golden, CO, Sharon Rodman, Orlando, FL; and nephew, Rolland Shubkagel, Frankfort.
