Robert Herman Studer, 48, of Beattie, KS, died in a motorcycle accident south of Marysville March 31, 2012. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, at at St. Malachy's Catholic Church, Beattie. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, at St. Malachy's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. The musicians were Jane Sedlacek and Kelsey Goodwin. Music included “Here I Am Lord”, “Servant Song”, "Bread, Blessed & Broken”, “Go In Peace” and “You Are Mine.” The pallbearers were Eric Studer, Barry Studer, Will Studer, Jordan Geis, Matt Geis, Steve Studer, Vince Studer and Tyler Taphorn. The honorary pallbearers were Mark Sandmann, Mike Meyer, Ben Byers, Mike Studer, Kevin O’Neil and Dean Koch. Burial was in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Beattie. Robert was born May 12, 1963 at Seneca, KS, to Francis "Brownie" and Elizabeth (Dwerlkotte) Studer. In 1981 he graduated from Marysville High School. He worked at Studer Truck Line in Beattie. He was mechanically gifted and could repair most anything. He was willing to help most anyone and was an excellent teacher in passing along his skills to others. Robert was knowledgeable in the world of Native American artifacts such as arrowheads, knives and hunting tools. He was a member of St. Malachy's Catholic church. Survivors include his mother, Elizabeth C. Studer, Beattie; brothers, Philip (Jan) Studer, Beattie, Joseph (Ann) Studer, Beattie, Paul (Judy) Studer, Frankfort, Bradley (Tracy) Studer, Marysville; sister, Regina (Dick) Geis, Topeka, KS; ten nephews, three nieces and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father; and brother, William Studer. A memorial fund had been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
