Dora Schreiner, 86, died May 13, 2012 at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 17, at the Vermillion Community Church, Vermillion. Rev. Herb Schrader officiated. The musicians were Laura O’Neil,Justin Stoll and Rev. Herb Schrader. The songs were “He Was There All the Time”, “It Is No Secret” and “He Touched Me.” The pallbearers were Tony Schreiner, David Schreiner, Charlton Cole, Mike Bergmann, Javier Lizarraga and Bill Rockwell. Burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery south of Frankfort. Dora was born November 14, 1925 near Circleville, KS, to Joseph and Julia (Steaham) Woolsoncraft. She graduated from Vermillion High School. Dora played on the basketball team, which was undefeated for two years, played softball and enjoyed fishing and horseback riding. She was united in marriage to David E. Schreiner on Dec. 11, 1944. Dora taught Sunday school, was a member of Eastern Star, and the Marshall County Historical Society. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, David; a grandson, Shannon; sisters, Mattie Mannell, Helen Staffbean; and brother, Samuel Woolsoncraft. She is survived by daughters, Linda K. Gabriel of New Vienna, Ohio, Frances (Bill) Myers of Frankfort; son, Tom (Cindy) Schreiner of Portland, Oregon; and fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
