Phyllis I. Ungerer, 94, of Sabetha, KS, and formerly of Marysville, died June 18, 2012 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha. Visitation was Friday, June 22, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A graveside funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 22 at the Marysville City Cemetery. Rev. Andy Smith officiated. Music included "Old Rugged Cross" and "Amazing Grace." Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Phyllis was born December 11, 1917 at Marysville, KS, daughter of Phillip and Bertha (Paxton) Holle. On January 16, 1945 she married Robert G. Ungerer at Seneca, KS. They farmed southeast of Marysville until he preceded her in death on August 23, 1965. She then moved to Herkimer, KS, and later into Marysville. In 1994, she moved to Sabetha. Phyllis cleaned many houses in Marysville. She enjoyed making craft dolls and dresses, birds and cooking. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; step-son, Darold Ungerer; and three brothers, Glenn Holle, Allen Holle and Merlin Holle. Survivors include her daughter, Ruth (Galen) Brammer, Sabetha; son, Terry (Jean) Ungerer, Topeka, KS; brother, Jack Holle, Marysville; sister, Fern Lee, Waverly, NE; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the Sabetha Wesleyan Building Fund. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
