Otis H. Meusborn, 91, of Hanover, KS, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover. Rev. Jill Menard officiated. Otis was born July 23, 1921 at Emerald, NE, the son of Alfred and Leda (Borchers) Meusborn. He grew up near Hanover and attended Emmonds School. While on leave from the U.S. Army he married Ruth "Sally" Garrett on January 11, 1943 at Hanover, KS. In 1957, they moved to Hanover and together ran LeRoy's Cafe. Otis also worked as a truck driver until managing the American Legion Post 306 in Hanover. In 1971 they moved to Texas and returned to Hanover in 2006. Otis was a member of the American Legion, DAV and VFW. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and working in his work shop. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary; brother, Eugene Meusborn; and two sisters, Helen Poell and Darlene Fazel. Survivors include his wife, Ruth "Sally" Meusborn; son, Mark Meusborn and wife, Kathy, Houston, TX; daughter-in-law, Margaret Henderson, Houston, TX; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and nieces and a nephew. A memorial fund has been established to the Wounded Warrior Project. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
