Lori Wassenberg, 54, of Marysville, KS, died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her residence. A rosary service was held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 22, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. The musicians were Jane Sedlacek and Paula Landoll-Smith. The pallbearers were Joe Cohorst, Fred Cohorst, Eugene Runnebaum, Doug Landoll, Michael Hasenkamp, Jr., and Mark Wassenberg. The honorary pallbearers were Richard Stonger, Janis Myrick, Jan Schell, Bruce Schwindman and Lori Runnebaum. Burial was in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery. Lori was born October 6, 1957 at Marysville, daughter of Laurence and Norma Jean (Dow) Wassenberg. She was raised in Marysville and later lived in Emporia before returning to Marysville. Lori worked at the Pacific Hotel as a desk clerk and then was a flagger for Hall Brothers Construction. Lori was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family and pets. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Wassenberg. Survivors include her daughter, Jenna Wassenberg, Emporia, KS; sister, Julie (Keith) Merit, Bremen, KS; and nephew, Jason Wassenberg, Marysville. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
