Daisy L. Schober

Daisy Schober, 79, of Vermillion,, KS, died Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Onaga Hospital. A funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 28, at the Vermillion Christian Church. Rev. Virgil Warren officiated. The honorary pallbearers were Melanie Eyman, Nicholas Schober, Brandon Schober, Janelle Wessel, Lindsay Schober, Neil Schober, Dallis Schober, Katie Schober and Ben Schober. Burial was in the Vermillion Cemetery. Daisy was born May 3, 1933 at Vermillion to Dallis and Irene (Lovelace) Willard. She attended school and graduated from Vermillion High School. She was the Vermillion City Clerk for over 40 years, ran Schober's Service and Dutch's Place. Daisy was a member of the Vermillion Christian Church and the Vermillion PTA. She played piano at church for over 35 years, sang for weddings and funerals. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Schober; brothers, Lawrence and Dennis Willard; and sister, Marguerite Raybourne. Survivors include her sons, Fred (Joyce) Schober, Topeka, Steve (Sara) Schober, Newton, IA, Brad (Gayla) Schober, Centralia; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of the Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.
