Howard L. Carroll, 65, of Marysville, KS, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 1, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Bob Welch played the organ while Paula Landoll-Smith sang “Come to Me”, “You Are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art.” The pallbearers were Eric Swim, Chris Wilson, Bruce Mills, Jim Swim, Jr., Wendel VanDoren and Fred Rydbom. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Howard was born May 1, 1947 at Eustis, FL, son of Justin and Charolotte (Mignon) Carroll. He graduated from Sante Fe High School in Alachua, FL. Howard then received degrees from Sante Fe College in Gainesville, FL, Manhattan Christian College and Friends University, Wichita. Howard worked as a Corrections Officer, in the Lawn & Garden Deptarment at Walmart, in Security for Georgia Pacific, and drove railroad crews at Marysville. He also raised and sold produce in Marysville. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Renee Mignon Carroll. His wife, Renee, survives him. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
