Dorothy Martin, 90, of Marysville, KS, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. Visitation will be Monday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A rosary service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 9, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy will officiate. Bob Welch will play the organ while the church choir sings “Beatitudes”, “In the Garden”, “On Eagles Wings” and “Alleluia, Sing to Jesus.” The pallbearers will be Chris Doyle, Mike Ring, Charlie Ring, Jim Barton, Charles Barton and Tom Malotte. Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Dorothy was born November 5, 1921 Marysville, KS, to Dominic and Lillian (Schwindamann) Ring. In 1939, she graduated from Marysville High School. After graduation she taught school at Pretty Prairie School, Home, KS, and later at Lily Creek School east of Marysville. She then enlisted in the Women Army Corp and attained the rank of Staff Sergant. She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Altar Society and the American Legion. Her favorite hobby was painting and art work. She was always upbeat and cheerful. Survivors include her husband, Robert; sister, Eleanor Grauer; and sister-in-law, Virginia Ring, all of Marysville. She was preceded in death by brothers, Jacob, Bill, Francis, Raymond, Wilfred, Leonard, Charles, and twin brother Dominic; and sisters, Lillian, Blanche and Carolyn.
