Ruby (Detimore) Oberhelman, 83, of Marysville, KS, died October 10, 2012 at Cambridge Place, Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, October 13, at United Evangelical Church of Christ, Marysville. Rev. Judy Scott officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Pat Breeding sang “Little Brown Church” and “Old Rugged Cross” and “I Can Only Imagine.” The pallbearers will be Lee Busch, Tim Busch, Jason Henthorne, Justin Esslinger, Jonathan Esslinger and Tristin Detimore. The honorary pallbearers will be Brycen Detimore, Mark Nester and Derek Brown. Burial was in the Marysville Cemetery. Ruby was born at Delia, KS, daughter of Oral and Anna Hainlaine Pasley. In 1949, she married LeRoy Detimore. He preceded her in death in 1992. In 1996, she married Donald Oberhelman. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Russell Pasley and Donald Pasley; and children, Edna Barnett and Martha Dierking. Ruby was active in the Evangelical United Church of Christ. She enjoyed bingo, visiting the casinos, dancing, gardening and canning. Surviviors include her son, Alan (Amy) Detimore, Marysville; daughters, Jean (Terry) Ungerer, Topeka, Wanita (Gary) Busch, Marysville, Karen (Rick) Owens, Wheatland, WY, Laura (Kent) Nester, Marysville, Alice (Albert) Esslinger, Marysville; brother, Clyde (Pat) Pasley, Topeka; sister, Rosalie (Fred) Rogers, Perry, KS; eighteen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren.
