Bonnie Mayhew, 86, formerly of Marysville, KS, died October 18, 2012 at a Nebraska City, NE, nursing home. Visitation was Monday, October 22, noon until 9 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 23, at the United Methodist Church, Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. The pallbearers were David Mayhew, David Leach, Greg Bothwell, Roland Mayhew, Matthew Macrow and Mitchell Dowding. The honorary pallbearer was Jerry Gellinger. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Bonnie was born February 6, 1926 at Marysville, KS, daughter of James and Gladys (Mitchell) Bothwell. On April 4, 1942, she married Dale A. Mayhew at Home, KS. She resided in Oketo, Marietta, Marysville, Louisville, KY, Abilene, KS, and Nebraska City, NE. She worked at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville, United Dairy, Marysville Telephone and was owner of Bonnie's Florist. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for almost 30 years. She was on the School Board for Bommer School and on the Deer Creek Cemetery Board. Bonnie enjoyed oil painting, working with flowers, loved to read, embroidering tea towels and collected over 2000 dolls. Survivors include her sons, Jim (Pattie) Mayhew, Abilene, KS, and Tanner (Leah) Mayhew, St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Sheri (Roger) Dowding, Nebraska City, NE; brother, Gary (Beverly) Bothwell, Topeka, KS; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren and eight step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; grandson, Jason Tanner Mayhew; sister, Genevieve Fincham; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Jo Mayhew; sisters-in-law, Zelma, Correne, and Ada; and brothers-in-law, Everett and Roy.
