Delores M. Nienaber, 88, of Hanover, KS, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Hanover Hospital, Hanover. Visitation was Sunday, November 4, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Hanover Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Lanham, KS. Rev. Jill Menard officiated. Mae Nieman played the organ while the congregation sang “He Leadeth Me” and “How Great Thou Art.” The pallbearers were Richard Stolte, Anthony Broun, Edward Smith, Dan Stanton, Jim Smith and Fred Smith. Burial was in the Lanham Cemetery. Delores was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Lanham. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, crafts, quilting and her cats. On April 15, 1951, she married Fred Nienaber. They lived in the Odell area. The past 10 years she has lived in the long term care at Hanover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; brothers, Leo Bonte, Henry Bonte and Alfred Bonte; and sisters, Elizabeth Wasser, Helen Corbin, Lucille Stanton and Loretta Seitz. Survivors include by her sister, Eva Allerheiligen, Marysville.
