Wilbur Dean Schramm, 67, of Hanover, died Friday, November 9, 2012 at Mercy Regional Health Center, Manhattan, KS. Visitation was Wednesday, November 14, 3 to 8 p.m., at the Hanover Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m., Thursday, November 15, at the Hanover Mortuary. Pastor Rodney Fritz officiated. The pallbearers were Brice Heck, Gary Minge, Curtis Turk, Doug Minge, Brad Schramm, Dave Roever, Don “Chick” Minge and Lawrence Minge. Burial was in the Hanover City Cemetery. Wilbur Dean was born on May 9, 1945 at Odell, NE to Ernest and Mabel (Minge) Schramm. He grew up in the Hanover area and farmed. Wilbur Dean enjoyed the outdoors, rodeos, wagon trail rides and fishing. He liked visiting with friends at the coffee shop and sale barn and participate with the Oregon Trail Re-ride. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Allen W. Schramm. Survivors include several cousins and friends. A memorial has been established in his name and will be designated later.
