Darlene Dorothy Scheele, 72, of Odell, NE, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. Visitation was Thursday, November 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Hanover Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church northeast of Hanover. Rev. Rodney Fritz officiated. Sheryl Kruse played the organ while the congregation sang “How Great Thou Art”, “Rock of Ages” and “Amazing Grace.” The church choir sang “Going Home.” The pallbearers were Curtis Turk, Andy Klipp, Mark Meyer, Daniel Meyer, Wayne Adam, Jason Uffman, Daniel Scheele and Brandon Hennerberg. The honorary pallbearers were Levi Scheele, Ally Scheele, Cody Scheele, Patrick Gomon, Brent Scheele, Jonathan Gomon, Kelsay Mueller, Kristopher Gomon and Lindsay Mueller. Burial was in the church cemetery. Darlene was born on May 8, 1940, on the family farm near Hanover, KS, the daughter of William and Louise (Lohse) Klipp. She was Baptized into the Christian faith on May 19, 1940, at Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. Dr. William Mahler. Her sponsors were Lucille Lohse, Lorena Lohse and Velma Klipp. On April 11, 1954, she confessed her Christian faith in the Rite of Confirmation. Her Confirmation Pastor was Rev. Theo. Kauffeld. On September 18, 1960, she married Norman Scheele. The service was held at Trinity Lutheran Church and was conducted by Rev. August Pera. She was a homemaker and was employed in the dietary departments at the Hanover Hospital and Community Memorial Healthcare. She served her Lord as a life-long member of Trinity, Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Trinity Parent-Teacher League. She was also a 4-H Leader. Darlene enjoyed quilting, gardening, and vacationing with the grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bernice Meyer; brothers-in-law, Arthur Meyer, Harlan Adam, Edwin Meyer, Orville Scheele and Harlen Oltmans; brother and sister-in-law, Verlin and Arlene Weichmann. Survivors include her husband, Norman; children, Douglas (Angie) Scheele, Hanover, Denise (Kraig) Gomon, Bellevue, NE, Lynnette Scheele, Lanham, Lyle Scheele, Lanham, Rick Scheele, Lanham, Rachel (Scott) Mueller, Palmer, Randy Scheele, Lanham, and Roger (Becky) Scheele, Hanover; sisters, Lorna Adam, Odell, Paula Meyer, Hanover, Vera (Delmar) Uffman, Linn, Loma (Chuck) Turk, Hanover; brother, Norbert (Arlyce) Klipp, Hanover; sisters-in-law, Elaine Scheele, Bremen, Elda Oltmans, Dewitt, NE, Valeda (Norbert) Schramm, Hanover, and Betty (Ervin) Hennerberg, Diller; brothers-in-law, Robert (Jeanette) Scheele, Hanover, and John Holle, Linn; aunt, Lucille Lohse; and nine grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, 2942 27th Rd., Hanover, KS 66945. The Hanover Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
