Maria (Mia) Nietfeld, 90, died Monday, November 12, 2012 at the Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. Visitation was Friday, November 16, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Friday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church, Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, November 17, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Bob Welch played the organ while the church choir sang “Here I Am Lord”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “On Eagles Wings” and “Alleluia! Sing to Jesus.” The pallbearers were Daniel Winkler, Gary Adrian, Francis Kroeger, Joe Kroeger, Ben Sunenberg and Jim Taphorn. Burial was in the church cemetery. Maria was born November 24, 1921, at Dinklage, Germany, to Clemens and Emma (Ruholl) Dwerlkotte. She attended school in Germany. On February 14, 1950, she was united in marriage to Herman Nietfeld at Dinklage, Germany. They moved to the United States in 1950, residing in the Home City area, later moving north west of Marysville in 1956. Mia was a housewife. She was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church and Altar Society. Maria enjoyed playing cards and having her hair styled by her future daughter-in-law. Survivors include her son, Fred and fiancé Sabine Winkler and children; and sister, Hedweig Kroger, Marysville. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman; brother, Hubert; and four sisters, Theresia, Emma, Hermine and Josepha.
