Ila Mae (Foster) Wright, 91, of Frankfort, KS, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at her home in Frankfort. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 1, at the Frankfort City Cemetery. Rev. Norma Jeane Miller will officiate. Ila Mae (Foster) Wright was born on October 9, 1921 at Frankfort, the daughter of Earl Clyde and Edith Lucille (Eshe) Foster. She graduated from Vermillion High School and then got her teaching certificate from Hayes College. On August 5, 1942, she married Charles Edward Wright at Seneca, KS. He preceded her in death on July 26, 1996, at the Frankfort Care Home. Ila owned and operated a ceramics shop in Frankfort for 28 years. She enjoyed teaching school and ceramics and enjoyed working with children and adults. She made alot of ceramics for herself, for gifts, and special orders. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Church Circles, Rebekah Lodge, Beta Epsilon Sorority, American Legion Auxilary. She was also active in PTA organizations, sports and church activities that her boys were involved in. Ila always enjoyed family get togethers, visiting, and taking pictures. She liked to read, did alot of painting ceramics, was always kind and always there for us. She was a loving mother. Survivors include her grandson, Gordon Wright, Wichita; several nieces and nephews, Kay Ashworth-Van Dorn, Topeka, Sandra Noble, Topeka, Kim Nolte, Seneca, Judy Scott, Seneca, Joanie Juarez, Torrence, CA, Carol Foster, CA, Terry Slifer, Lawrence, William Mills, Huntington Beach, CA, Michael Shearer, Oregon, Tim Foster, CA; daughter-in-law, Janice Wright, Frankfort, and her step-children Sondra and Paige and their families. Ila was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Edward and James; four sisters, Bernice Schida, Helen Irene Van Dorn, Claribell Shearer and Maxine Slifer; and two brothers, William Clyde Foster and Edward Earl Foster. Memorial contributions will be designated later and can be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.
