Laberta M. Allen, 83, of Frankfort, KS, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., December 28, at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. Rev. Dennis Holst officiated. The congregation sang "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "Blessed Assurance." The honorary pallbearers were Ray Oehm, Raymond Oehm, Dan Hooyer, Levi Oehm, Bill McGehee and Keith Olberding. Burial will be in the Berg Cemetery, Blaine, KS. Laberta was born August 30, 1929, at Wheaton, KS, daughter of Peter Curtis and Mayme Elizabeth (Valburg) Allen. She was baptized at the Church of Christ in Marysville. She was a resident at Twin Valley Development Services in Beattie until moving to the Frankfort Care Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Ruby; and a brother, Peter. Survivors include her brother, George Allen, Waterville, KS; and sister, Mayme E. Kerney, Marysville. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date.
