Norbert Schramm, 76, of Hanover, KS, died Monday, January 14, 2013 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, northeast of Hanover. Rev. Rodney Fritz officiated. Arlyce Klipp played the organ while the congregation sang "How Great Thou Art”, “Amazing Grace” and “Asleep In Jesus.” The church choir sang “My Course Is Run.” The pallbearers were Rick Scheele, Ronald Ohlde, Daniel Scheele, Lance Lawrence, Russell Hennerberg and Brian Hennerberg. Burial was in the church cemetery. Norbert was born February 28, 1936, on the family farm south of Odell, NE, son of Henry Schramm and his wife Wilhelmine Klipp Schramm. He was Baptized into the Christian faith on March 8, 1936 at Trinity Lutheran by the Rev. Dr. William Mahler. His sponsors were Otto Munstermann, Henry Klipp, and Alfons Schramm. Norbert confessed his Christian faith during the Rite of Confirmation, held at Trinity on Palm Sunday, April 2, 1950. His Confirmation Pastor was Rev. Theo. Kauffled. He graduated from the 8th grade at Trinity Lutheran School. On Oct. 16, 1960 Norbert was married to Valeda Scheele, the service held at Trinity by Rev. August Pera. Norbert was a farmer all of his life. He was a Vigortone Feed Dealer since 1977. He was a Charter member and Treasurer of the Horseshoe Creek Watershed Program. He was a member of the Dairy Herd Improvement Association and served as President for the organization. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, watching them play ball, and attending their many activities. Norbert served His Lord as a life-long member of Trinity; as Church Elder, as School Elder, as Chairman of the Congregation, as a member of Trinity’s Parent-Teacher’s League, as an Usher and as a member of the Student Fund Committee. He also worked hard to promote the construction of the Prayer Room Addition to the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Wilhelmine; parents-in-law, George and Alma Scheele; sister, Evelyn Meyer and her husband Paul; brothers-in-law, Harlen Oltmans, Orville Scheele, and Verlin Wiechmann; sisters-in-law, Darlene Scheele and Arlene Wiechmann Holle; nephews, Gordon Meyer and Ronald Wiechmann; and infant sister-in-law, Leola Scheele. Norbert is survived by his wife, Valeda, Hanover; children, Sharon Wilgers and husband Bill, Palmer, KS, and Brad Schramm and wife Marilyn, Bremen; brother, Melvin Schramm and wife Darla, Hanover; sister, Leona Meyer and husband Rodney, Marysville; grandchildren, Natalie Herrs and husband Brett, Mission, KS, Miranda Wilgers and Krista Wilgers, Palmer, and Leah Schramm, Bremen; brothers-in-law, Norman Scheele, Odell, Robert Scheele and wife Jeanette, Hanover, and John Holle, Linn; sisters-in-law, Elda Oltmans, DeWitt, Elaine Scheele, Bremen, and Betty Hennerberg and husband Ervin, Diller; nieces, nephews, and his many friends and business acquaintances. The Hanover Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
