Lola M. Habig, 91, of Marysville, KS, passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville. Visitation was Friday, February 22, at Kinsley Mortuary, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family received friends 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 23, at the First Christian Church, Marysville. Rev. Jerry Zanker officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while Staci Haug sang “Heirlooms” and “One Day at a Time”. The congregation sang “How Great Thou Art”. Tributes of Lola were giving by grandchildren Cal Habig, Scott Crosier, Amy Weiss, Aleah Habig, Laurie Crosier. The pallbearers were Doug Ford, Jay Habig, Daren Habig, Cal Habig, Steve Bradley, Scott Crosier and Leo Karnowski The honorary pallbearers were Logan Haug, Martin Haug, Jim Bradley, Roland Kaiser, Leslie Habig, Jack Kirkland, Keith McMahon, Phil Bradley, Cameron Haug, Mike Duncan, B.G. Weiss and Tony Castellanos. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Lola was born May 14, 1921 at Summerfield, KS, to James and Lillie (Clark) Graham. She was united in marriage to Milton Earl Crosier on September 2, 1943. Milton died January 20, 1953. On February 1, 1955, Lola married Pat Habig. She was a member of the First Christian Church and attended Sunday church service up to her 90th birthday. She helped with funeral dinners, served on the church board and prepared communion. Lola and her two eldest children were baptized together. Lola belonged to the Railroad Retirees Group, was a RSVP Volunteer, volunteered at Marysville Hospital Auxiliary and she received the Volunteer of the Year Award. She was a dedicated member of Al-Anon since 1961. Her home was always full of laughter and the family enjoyed playing many games. She made the holidays special for her family and she always remembered the birthdays with a special card and gift. Lola enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing cards, exercising, walking with friends and listening to music. She was an avid KU basketball fan. Spending time with her family and friends is something she looked forward to. Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands, three step children, Jack Habig, Marjorie Karnowski and Kenneth Habig; sisters, Opal Mitschler and Sandy Page; one step-grandson; and one great-grandson. Survivors include children, Duane (Lois) Crosier, Seneca, KS, Judy (Jerry) Ford, Kansas City, and Dennis (Diana) Habig, Marysville; step-daughter, Patricia Bradley, Texarkana, TX; twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to the First Christian Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
