Emma Alice Kracht, 97, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Blue Valley Nursing Home in Blue Rapids, KS. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Monday, April 22, at the Memorial Presbyterian Church, Marysville. Gary Phillips officiated. Carol O’Neal played the organ while Bryan Kracht sang “On Eagles Wings” and Wayne Kruse sang “How Great Thou Art” and “My God and I”. The pallbearers were Steve McDowell, Darcy Claycamp, David Sedlacek, Doug Potts, Landon Merrill and Bryan Kracht. The honorary pallbearers were Delmar Schotte, Alvin Roepke and Wayne Hill. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Emma was born on April 23, 1915 in Riley County to Martin and Matilda (Kneemeyer) Bonin. She attended school in Waterville. On October, 20, 1935, she married Alvin “Bud” Kracht at her parents’ home in Waterville. She was a homemaker and lived all her married life in Herkimer. She lived in Marysville for nine years and moved to the nursing home in 2010. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Alvin (Bud); sisters, Tillie Blaske, Martha Tanner, Alma Hill, Erna Potts, Nellie Dobrovolny; brothers, Edward Bonin and George Bonin; sister-in-law, Edna Fulton; and brother-in-law, Wally Kracht. Survivors include her son, Larry (Judy) Kracht, Manhattan; three grandchildren, Scott (Lynn) Kracht, Marysville, Denise (Mike) Kruse, Clearmont, MO, and Becky (Darcy) Claycamp, Blue Rapids; ten great grandchildren, Landon and Leanne Merrill, Bryan Kracht, Alyssa Feldkamp, Madison and McKenzie Kracht, Jessica Fichter, Brooke, Paige and Taryn Claycamp; one great-greatgrandson, Carter Fichter; sister, Phyllis McDowell, Salina; and sisters-in-law, Delores Sedlacek and Marian Bonin-Thornton. A memorial fund to the Memorial Presbyterian Church has been established. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
