Volanda E. Feldhausen, 72, Bremen, KS, died Saturday, May 18, 2013 at her home after a long illness. A funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church (Hermansberg), Bremen. Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Bev Crome played the organ while the congregation sang “I Am Trusting Thee Lord Jesus”, “What a Friend We Have in Jesus” and “Amazing Grace.” The pallbearers were James Hagedorn, Derek Pretre, Dylan Pretre, Steve Ohlde, Tim Ohlde, Alan Ohlde and Terry Ohlde. The honorary pallbearers were Jacob Fincham, Jeremy Fincham, Zachary Feldhausen, Frank “Kris” Feldhausen, Darrell Hoyt and Mike Hatesohl. Burial was in the church cemetery. Volanda was born February 26, 1941, at Odell, NE, daughter of LaVern and Esther (Wasserman) Crome of Herkimer, KS. She attended Immanuel Lutheran Hermansberg grade school and graduated from Marysville High School in 1959. On June 14, 1959 she married Frank L. Feldhausen at Immanuel Lutheran Church (Hermansberg). After high school she worked at Marysville Mutual then later worked 22 years at Herkimer Coop and 12 years at Valley Vet Supply before retiring. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church (Hermansberg) and of the Women’s Mission Guild. She loved being with family and attending the grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Volanda enjoyed traveling, sewing and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Frank; children, Frank K. Feldhausen, and wife Debra, Bremen, Douglas L. Feldhausen and wife Jeanne, Burlington, KS, and Nancy R. Fincham and husband Fred, Bremen; siblings, Kenneth Crome, Herkimer, Carol Hagedorn, Marysville, and Darlene Iler, Verdi, MN; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A memorial fund is established in her name and will be designated later by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
