Lisa Mayhew, 53, of Marysville, KS, died Friday, May 31, 2013 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, KS. Visitation was Monday, June 3, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 4, at Kinsley Mortuary. Jack Hain officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ and sang “Amazing Grace” and “Because He Lives." The pallbearers were Joe Mayhew, Troy Mayhew, Dan Brazda, Bob Nicholson, Roland Mayhew, Brad Behrends and Chris Butler. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Lisa was born July 18, 1959 at Lincoln, NE, daughter of Gerald and Jeanie (Fredrickson) Brazda. She graduated from Lincoln East High School. On November 10, 1978, she married Roger Mayhew at Lincoln. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2008. Lisa enjoyed church and kids. Her life revolved around her sons. She enjoyed supporting them and attending their events. Survivors include two sons, Joe Mayhew, Emporia, KS, and Troy Mayhew, Kismet, KS; parents, Gerald and Jeanie Brazda, Omaha, NE; sister, Jennifer Behrends, Beatrice, NE; and brother, Dan Brazda, Chesterfield, VA; and one granddaughter. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
