Norma J. Prebyl, 75, of Oketo, KS, died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Community Memorial Health Care, Marysville. A funeral service was at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, at Kinsley Mortuary Chapel. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Deb Landoll was organist and accompanied Rev. Lewis as he sang "One Day At A Time" and "In the Garden." The pallbearers were Jerrod Prebyl, John Prebyl, Doug Novotny, Rodney Latta, Darrell Cook, Terry Zvolanek and Ryan Halller. The honorary pallbearers were Galen Latta, Gale Collins, Charlie Downie, Ed Lytle and Gary Schroller. Burial was in the Marysville Cemetery. Norma was born on a farm near Marysville on July 19, 1937 the daughter of Dick and Bertha Latta Hofeling. She graduated from Barneston High School in 1956. She married Ed Prebyl May 17, 1958 at Marysville. They enjoyed 55 years together on their farm in rural Oketo. Norma was a farm wife who enjoyed helping her husband on the farm. She also worked for the Surf Motel in Marysville for 19 years. Norma enjoyed cooking, decorating cakes, flowers, polka music and dancing, her many friends and just living life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Marion (Butch) Hofeling. Survivors are her husband, Ed Prebyl of Oketo; son, Dale (Sue) Prebyl; and two grandchildren.
