Orville R. Skeen Jr., 78, of Frankfort, died Sunday, June 23 at Onaga Hospital, Onaga, KS. Visitation was held 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, June 27 at Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville. A graveside funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 29, at the Beattie Union Cemetery, Beattie. Orville was born on November 13, 1934 to Orville R. and Margaret (Wilder) Skeen, Sr. at Beattie. Orville worked for Hall Brothers Construction as a road construction foreman. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include daughters, Tonya Lewis, Kathy Skeen both of Cherryville, KS; sons, Phillip Skeen of Texas, Roger Skeen of Beattie, Troy Skeen of Houston, TX.; brother, Gary Skeen of Florida; sisters, Nancy Erics of Beatrice, NE,, Betty Skeen of Lincoln, NE, and Elsie Arcand of Springfield, MA. Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Donald Skeen; and a grandson, Nathaniel. A memorial fund has been established in his name and will be designated by the family at a later time.
