Glenn Junior Potts, 89 of Oketo, KS. passed away at his home on Monday, July 1, 2013. Funeral services were held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Marysville, Kansas with Rev. Jerry Zanker officiating. Pat Breeding sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" and "I'll See You Again" accompanied by Deb Landoll on the organ. Pallbearers were Brian Altar, Jarod Prebyl, Chris Hallick, Leroy Heiserman, Mike Blumer, and Coy Hackney. Burial was in Marysville City Cemetery. Visitation was on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. Glenn was born on October 12, 1923 near Waterville, Kansas, the son of Gustave and Amanda (Kneemeyer) Potts. He grew up as member of the Swede Creek Evangelical Church, where he took his Junior Catechism. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1942. He married Marjorie Irene Dolen August 29, 1948 in Abilene, Kansas. Glenn worked for the Blue Rapids CO-OP and then became a state grain inspector. He lived in Salina 15 years before moving to Oketo, Kansas, where he farmed. Glenn loved to travel the United States, loved nature and enjoyed four-wheeling. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Glenn is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Oketo; two daughters, Glenda Sue Edwards and Pamela Kay Hackney both of Salina, Ks; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Lester and Marvin. A memorial fund has been established in his name to Hospice Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.
