Gertrude Stonger, 89, Marysville, died April 2 2008, at Cambridge Place, Marysville. A service was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 4, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Marysville. The Rev. Gary Pennings officiated. Bob Welch played as the choir sang “I Am the Bread Of Life,” “Taste and See,” “On Eagles Wings,” “You Are Mine” and “How Great Thou Art.” Pallbearers were Jenny Stallbaumer, Jody Armstrong, Brad Armstrong, Roger Armstrong, Justin Stallbaumer and Kristin Armstrong. Burial was in the church cemetery. A rosary was 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Gertrude Stonger was born March 1, 1919, at Hanover, the daughter of William and Elizabeth Menke Drogemueller. She went to Hanover schools. She married Francis Kenneth Stonger. She was a member of a women’s auxiliary, the church altar society and D.A.V. garden club. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Survivors include her son, Richard Stonger, Marysville; daughter, Kathy Armstrong, Winifred; brother, Bill Drogemueller, Hanover; and sister, Alice Throm, Marysville.
