Mary L. Scheller

Mary L. Scheller, 95, of Marysville, KS, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 24, at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Mary was born to William and Anna (Northcott) Kuoni on March 8, 1918 at Marysville. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1936. In school, she lettered three years in basketball. After graduation, Mary played semi-pro basketball in Wichita. Mary was the bookkeeper for Scheller Sheet Metal. She was a wood carver, painter and enjoyed playing golf. She was united in marriage to Alvin Scheller. Alvin preceded her in death, November 11, 2002. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Kevin; and sister, Dorothy Buck. Survivors include sons, Ronald Scheller of Marysville, Jim Scheller of Salina; sister, Betty Ricketson of San Antonio, TX; and four grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or to the Kansas Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired and can be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
