Judith A. Press, 73, of Marysville, KS, died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln, NE. A funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Rev. Dale Lewis officiated. Deb Landoll played the organ while the congregation sang "Blessed Assurance". Rev. Dale Lewis sang “Hymn of Promise”. The pallbearers were Greg Boss, Rick Boss, Jim Keller, Todd Landoll, Dennis Cashier and Jason Messing. Burial was in Hawks Cemetery near Cuba, KS. Judith was born March 26, 1940 in Oregon, daughter of Lloyd and Daphne (Johnson) Tremble. In 1958, she graduated from Agenda High School. On December 20, 1959 she married LaVern Press at the Agenda Methodist Church. In 1962, they moved to Marysville where she worked at Montgomery Ward until they closed. She then worked for Cunningham Insurance, Welch Insurance, Houtz Insurance, Milford Drinkgern Insurance and Blue Valley Insurance. Judith enjoyed her grandchildren, reading and volunteering at Twin Valley Developmental Services in Beattie and at the United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, Children’s Moments, Vacation Bible School, was a Sunday School Teacher and helped with the Marshall County Food Pantry. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, LaVern; son, Brad Press, Grand Island, NE; two grandchildren, Johnathan and Madison; brother, Gary Tremble; and sister, Valerie Winkle.
