Mildred "Millie" R. Prell, 90, of Bremen, KS, died Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 13, at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Bremen. Rev. Jack Kirk officiated. Kathy Pralle played the organ while the congregation sang "Just As I Am", "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "Amazing Grace". The choir sang "What a Friend We Have In Jesus". The pallbearers were Jacob Hynek, Travis Hynek, Chris Stohs, Jerry Stohs, Gary Dwerlkotte and David Licht. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mildred was born July 18, 1923 near Herkimer, KS, daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Bargmann) Krueger. She attended country school near Herkimer. She helped her husband with their vending machines for 40 years and later worked in the kitchen at the Hanover Hospital. On June 22, 1946 she married Louis "Gus" Prell. She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lutheran Ladies Society, L.W.M.L., and Bremen Extension Club. She volunteered with the County Health Department, Pony Express Visitor's Center, Habitat Thrift Store, Meals on Wheels, R.S.V.P., and was a Sunday School Teacher. Mildred enjoyed quilting, playing cards, baking and socializing with the Red Hatters. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Elmer Krueger; and sister, Clara Geihsler. Survivors include three daughters, Margaret (Dick) Rhodes, Utica, NE, Cindy (Jay) Hynek, and Brenda Prell, all of Hanover, KS; four grandchildren, Jacob (Amy) Hynek, Travis (Erin) Hynek, Heather (Jay) Stech and Hannah Dilley; and seven great-grandchildren, Jerret, Bryant, Marrah, Millie and Jayden Hynek, Natalie and Tiffany Stech. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated at a later date. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
