Roberta Talbot, 93, died April 29, 2008, at the Presbyterian Manor in Topeka, KS. Funeral services were at 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 5, 2008, at the First Baptist Church in Marysville. The Rev. Gerald Hawk officiated. Marge Volesky played the organ and Wayne Kruse sang “Old Rugged Cross”, “Love Lifted Me” and “In the Garden”. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, May 4, from noon until 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. Pallbearers were Tony Snider, Rob Talbot, Bradley Gose, Chris Talbot, Gregory Gose, Todd Wienck, Mark Calloway and Hamon Calloway. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Swaim, Gary Jacques, Craig Ray, LeRoy Raber, Ronnie Jacques, Terry Baker, Frank Burnett, Eugene Farrar, Steve James, Nealan Nincehelser and Damian Redding. Roberta was born November 12, 1914, the daughter of Robert and Lou (Storm) Farrar. On October 4, 1936, she married Sylvis Talbot at the Baptist Parsonage in Blue Rapids, KS. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Lillian; one sister, Alice; two brothers, Roy and Lynn; and one great-grandson, Ian Gose. Survivors include one son, Robert Earl Talbot of Topeka, KS; four daughters, Lillian May Gose, Fall City, NE, Sharon Kay Wienck, Topeka, KS, Silvia Gay Snider, Topeka, KS, and Judy Fay Calloway, Topeka, KS; sixteen grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
