Mary Ellen Clark

Mary Ellen Clark, 85, of Topeka, KS. formerly of Frankfort, KS. died Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Washburn Community Care Center in Topeka. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013 at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort, Kansas. Rosary will be at 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 2, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort with no family present. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the rosary on Tuesday morning at the church. Father Pat Sullivan officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Frankfort. Mary Ellen Clark was born on August 9, 1928 at Frankfort, the daughter of Daniel and Gertrude (Bushey) Horigan. She graduated from Frankfort High School. On September 13, 1948, she married Alfred Clark in Frankfort. They were later divorced. Mary was a switch board operator for Southwestern Bell in Frankfort. She was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort, the Altar Society and P.E.O. Mary enjoyed visiting her children, grandchildren, spelling contests, golfing, and bowling. Survivors include her children, Colleen Kitzman, Topeka, Dan (Ellen) Clark, Topeka, and Kathy (Jim) Seeberger, Wamego, ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents, and two brothers, Dan Horigan and William Horigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice and can be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort.
