Allen A. Jones, 78, of Frankfort, KS, died November 2, 2013 at his home. Visitation was Wednesday, November 6, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Padden Funeral Chapel, Frankfort. A wake service was held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 7, at Annunciation Catholic Church. Father Pat Sullivan and Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Jane Sedlacek played the organ while Rheta Matson led the congregation in singing “Be Not Afraid”, “Amazing Grace”, “Abba Father”, “One Bread One Body”, “How Great Thou Art” and “On Eagles Wings”. The pallbearers were Charlie Studer, Dan Studer, Roger Jones, Jerry Gerstner, Willie Schooler and Glen Dressman. The honorary pallbearers were Ralph Miller, Roy Miller, Lyle Howell, Gene Fischer, Ed Fischer, Jerry Keating, Hershel Mentgen and Wendell Vandorn. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort. Allen was born August 20, 1935 at Bigelow the son of John H. and Marcella Rosedahl Jones. He married Loretta Stowell on April 1, 1959 in Frankfort. Allen graduated from Frankfort High School in 1953. He then worked for Goodyear and then went to the Army. After returning home he worked for the State of Kansas while he was getting started farming. For the last 53 years he was a farmer and rancher. He enjoyed his cow-calf herd, hunting and camping with family, water skiing and most of all the grandchildren. He was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, American Legion, Frankfort Fire Board and Kansas Livestock Association. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Loretta; son, Mark Jones and Lisa Essman, Frankfort; daughters, Lynette and husband Kent Floyd, Beattie, and Julie and husband Leon Fox, Frankfort; sister, Jean Ann Stewart, Manhattan; grandchildren, Lacey (Rick) Stevens, Dustin (Kim) Floyd, Lance (Christy) Jones, Dalen Floyd, Tara Fox and Grady Fox. A memorial fund has been established to the Frankfort Fire Department and Frankfort EMS. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
