Bobbie L. Babb, 86, of Marysville, KS, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Monday, December 2, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A wake service was held at 7 p.m., Monday, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, at St. Gregory's. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. Rosemary Forst played the organ while the church choir sang “Beatitudes”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “On Eagles Wings” and “I Have Loved You”. The pallbearers were Jim Heston, Jeff Ballman, Doug Hogan, Don Ballman, Randy Hogan and John Runnebaum. The honorary pallbearers were Kyle Ross, Joe Slama, Roy Hanson, Jim Lindeen, Brennon Ross, Inez Hermesch, George Severins, Jordan Mackey, Marj Gugenhan and Charles Lindeen. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Bobbie was born June 25, 1927, at Marysville, to Cleo and Anna (Cain) Babb. In 1948, he graduated from Marysville High School. He joined the Army and attained the rank of Private First Class in the 1st Field Artillery Battalion. On June 11, 1955, he married Rosalie Ballman. Bobbie served as custodian for USD #364 from 1956 to 1991. He was a member of American Legion, Moose Lodge, Wymore American Legion, VFW and the Marysville Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed watching sports on T.V., especially Nebraska Football, and all of Marysville High School events. He was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Rosalie, Marysville; daughter, Carla Maloney and husband Rickey, Basehor, KS; sons, Dean Babb, Phoenix, AZ, and Michael Babb and friend Janice Arnold, Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Tiffanie Mackey, Michelle Ross and John Mackey; eight great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to St Gregory's Catholic School. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
